Green River Honey Finish is the Owensboro distillery's straight bourbon aged with real local honey added to the barrel — not a liqueur, not a flavoring — bottled at 92 proof. Green River is DSP-KY-10, the tenth license in Kentucky, built by J.W. McCulloch in 1885 on the Ohio River, rebuilt in 2014, first new barrels in 2016 under master distiller Jacob Call, and bought by Bardstown Bourbon Company in 2022. The Honey Finish takes four-plus-year Kentucky straight bourbon and finishes it with a custom blend of locally sourced, seasonally selected 100% real honey added directly to the barrels, then bottles at 92 proof — a few points above the flagship. Breaking Bourbon: honey, cinnamon powder, caramel hard candy, and mild oak on the nose; white peppercorn, bold honey, and light oak on the palate; and a finish of honey cake, honey hard candy, peppercorn, and oak — extremely honey-forward, and better in a cocktail than neat. Bourbon Obsessed found more balance, calling it honey, fruit, and spice in proportion. Honest note: it's for people who really like honey — that's the review and it's fair. The Gold Rush, the hot toddy, and the whiskey sour that needs no syrup are where this earns its shelf space, and it costs less than the bourbon it's made from. In a Gold Rush, a toddy, or on the rocks. Green River, honeyed.Buy Green River Honey Finish Bourbon Whiskey online with fast shipping right to your door.
