A Considered Find｜ Other Products ｜Orphan Barrel Fanged Pursuit 17 Year Old Bourbon Whiskey

Fanged Pursuit is seventeen-year Kentucky bourbon at 92 proof — Breaking Bourbon rated it 3.5 out of 5 and called it an enjoyable, accessible high-aged pour and solid value against other premium aged bourbons. Orphan Barrel is Diageo's 2013 project to find lost and forgotten barrels — most releases came from the old Stitzel-Weller stocks, and the label art is the series' signature; Fanged Pursuit, released in 2025, is sourced Kentucky straight bourbon from an undisclosed distillery, aged seventeen years, and bottled at 92 proof. Breaking Bourbon: sweet, fruit-forward cherry and raspberry with mature seasoned oak, warm caramel, cinnamon, and sugared walnut on the nose; sweet oak, butterscotch, and candied fruit with subtle mint and tobacco on the palate, balanced despite the lower proof; and a medium finish of mature oak, molasses, brown sugar, and barrel char with mild bitterness. Drinkhacker found the seventeen years showing as dried fruit and polish rather than tannin. Honest note: the proof is low and the price is high, and if you make peace with both this is a well-made, drinkable seventeen-year bourbon — something that barely exists at retail — for the age collector and the Orphan Barrel completist.
