The Discovery Edit｜Musical Fidelity: A1 Integrated Amplifier｜ Other Products

LAB POINTS

modern remake of classic Musical Fidelity A1 integrated amplifier from 1985
all analog design, 25W per channel, class A design (class A is least efficient but has the highest sound fidelity)
updated power transformer from shared to more efficient 'dual mono split rail' windings
low noise phono input for either MM or MC cartridges; features the same circuitry as the original 1985 design
(6) RCA stereo inputs including (1) dedicated MM/MC phono input, (5) line level inputs

note: like the original, the top of the amp features the signature heatsink grill (draws heat away from the circuitry), which gets very hot to touch during operation

"The A1 is undoubtedly a cult favorite amongst audiophiles for its class A power design, hyper-focused feature set (perfect for turntable setups), and iconic 80s design. All of this results in one of the best sounding integrated amps at this price range. For this new remake, Audio Fidelity has maintained most of the original character of the amp, while updating some of the inner circuitry." - TTL
