With rave reviews already pouring in, Joanna Newsom’s fourth album (not on Spotify, still beefing) continues the avant garde songstress’s path on the unpaved fringes of folk and pop (or "fop"). In my book, she’s the next progression of Kate Bush and Cocteau Twins. This quality double vinyl pressing in a thick glossy gatefold (like those old CTI jazz records) solidifies the idea of permanence as if she’s marking her territory. Newsom fans won’t be disappointed.
