Blend #1 is where Alambique Serrano began — the first release from a project that has since become one of the most talked-about names in Mexican cane spirits. The Krassel family has distilled on the steep hillsides of Santa María Tlalixtac in Oaxaca's Cañada region for three generations, since German immigrant Max Krassel started with a handmade still on a coffee farm in the 1930s; his sons hauled aguardiente to remote villages by mule, and today his grandsons Rommel, Axel, and William run the stills. Everything starts with organic Java-varietal cane grown between 2,500 and 3,800 feet, hand-harvested and pressed in mobile mills carried by mule, fermented with wild yeast in pine and steel vats, then distilled on the family's custom-built column and copper pot stills. Blend #1 is a two-year-old marriage of casks, bottled at cask strength — 55.6% ABV — with no additives, sugar, or coloring. Expect fresh-pressed cane, green banana, and citrus zest on the nose with vanilla and light oak, opening into a lively, oily palate of tropical fruit, honey, black pepper, and dry wood spice, with a long finish that keeps the grassy agricole edge alive under the barrel. RumRatings tasters score it 8.0. It's the introduction to the house style — drier and more savory than Caribbean cane rums, with mountain-terroir character nobody else can replicate — and The Auditor's verdict on the range applies here: near the top of every rum lover's list to try.Buy Alambique Serrano Blend #1 Rum online with fast shipping right to your door.
