9north Carta Blanca 4 Year White Rum｜ Other Products

Carta Blanca is 9north's foundation — a genuine 4-year-old white rum, which is rarer than it sounds: most white rums are unaged or barely rested, but this one spends four full years in second-fill bourbon barrels at Panama's historic Las Cabras distillery (PILSA, established 1924) before being lightly charcoal-filtered back to crystal clarity. That aging shows up in the glass as real structure most white rums simply don't have. Wine Enthusiast's Kara Newman reviewed it blind, finding it subtly sweet with hints of toasted coconut and toasted almond, finishing long with plenty of alcohol backbone and a fiery cinnamon heat, recommending it for Daiquiris and other cocktails. The brand's own notes emphasize bright tropical fruit and a clean finish, in keeping with the low-sugar, additive-conscious approach that runs across the whole 9north line. Made from sugarcane grown in the volcanic soil of Herrera Province, it's built first for cocktails — a Daiquiri, Mojito, or Ti' Punch riff where a flabby white rum would disappear — but the barrel age and charcoal-polished texture make it genuinely pleasant over ice too. The versatile, everyday entry point into modern Panamanian rum, from the same lineup whose Añoso 8 and Especiado both scored 90+ from Wine Enthusiast.
