Green River is DSP-KY-10, the tenth license in Kentucky, built by J.W. McCulloch in 1885 on the Ohio River, rebuilt in 2014, first new barrels in 2016 under master distiller Jacob Call, and bought by Bardstown Bourbon Company in 2022. Full Proof is the house 70% corn, 21% rye, 9% malted barley mashbill, aged five to seven years in new charred oak, and bottled at the proof it entered the barrel — 117.3 — uncut. Breaking Bourbon: vanilla, caramel, and oak with leather, cinnamon, and bourbon-soaked cherry on the nose; caramel cream candy and brown sugar with dark fruit, honey, and barrel char on a creamy palate; and a finish where oak, rye spice, and heat build — the smooth, approachable Green River signature translated to barrel strength without losing drinkability.
