Drumshanbo Irish Whiskey Galanta Release comes from The Shed Distillery in Drumshanbo, County Leitrim, the distillery behind Drumshanbo Gunpowder Irish Gin. Galanta is a limited-release single pot still whiskey built on the distillery's unusual mash of malted barley, unmalted barley and Irish oats, matured in bourbon and Oloroso sherry casks and bottled at 43% ABV (86 proof). The sherry cask influence leads with dried fruit, toffee and nutty spice over the creamy, oat-softened pot still base, with orchard fruit and a gentle oak finish. It is a rounder, richer expression than the standard Drumshanbo pot still and is best enjoyed neat.As a small-batch release from one of Ireland's most inventive distilleries, this 700ml bottle is one for collectors and single pot still fans.
