Product description
Superb Korg Mono/Poly MP-4 for sale in exceptional cosmetic condition and perfect working order, freshly-serviced.
In exceptionally clean condition for its age with only very minor scuffs and smudges consistent with an extremely well-preserved and little-used 35 year-old synth. Overall it is a superb example - the face is about as clean as we've ever seen and the knobs and buttons look and feel like they've barely been used. There are a few small dings in the 'wooden' end cheeks. Click on the photos to zoom in and see detailed photos, but be aware that the usual minor smudges and scuffs on these synths do not show up well on photos. Overall this is an incredibly tidy monster of a synth.
It's just been serviced and recalibrated by a top synth tech. It sounds stunning - these are powerful and flexible synths with great sound-design capabilities. Definitely my favourite Korg of this era.
(Note, we have another in less good condition awaiting service - get in touch if you wish to pre-order that one instead at £1400
It is a 100v Japanese model and will run fine on North American mains 115/120v without a transformer (we run all our tests using 120v power); however, a step-down transformer is recommended for extended use.
A step-down transformer is required in the UK/EU.
We do not recommend using cheap generic Chinese mains transformers and can supply a high quality UK-made unit if required.
For sales in UK/EU the price will include VAT. VAT-free sales are possible to businesses and individuals in the EU (outside the UK) with a valid VAT Number - please get in touch if you wish to buy this way.
There are no known faults with this synth - in use, wheels, switches and pots move smoothly and noiselessly. (Please note: it is always possible with vintage equipment that some crackly pots/sliders may develop over time when equipment has not been used - even during shipping - this can usually be easily rectified either by use or with a bit of switch-cleaning spray).
Below are a couple of YouTube clips that demonstrate what this synth can do (with thanks to the uploaders); some effects have been added.
