Airborne High Joker Lounge Chair & Ottoman by Olivier Mourgue｜ Furniture

The High Joker armchair with matching ottoman, designed by Olivier Mourgue for Airborne in the 1960s, is a striking example of French modernist design. Defined by its sculptural cantilevered chrome frame and generous black leather cushions, the High Joker combines futuristic aesthetics with exceptional comfort.
The elegant suspended construction creates a subtle floating effect while offering remarkable flexibility and support. Upholstered in supple black leather, the deep cushions contrast beautifully with the polished steel frame, emphasizing the chair’s refined industrial character. The high-back version provides additional comfort and presence, making it an exceptional statement piece for both modern and eclectic interiors.
Originally conceived during the golden era of Space Age and avant-garde French design, Mourgue’s Joker series remains highly sought after for its timeless silhouette and relaxed seating experience. The accompanying ottoman completes the set, enhancing both comfort and visual balance.
