Camus VSOP Intensely Aromatic Cognac is built around the floral signature of the Borderies cru, where the family-owned Camus house holds the largest vineyards of any producer. The eaux-de-vie are distilled with their lees for extra aromatic intensity, then aged in fine-grain, low-tannin French oak barrels given Camus's light French toasting so the oak supports the spirit's freshness rather than covering it. It is bottled at 40% ABV in a 700ml bottle. It shows an elegant gold with amber undertones. The nose moves from tropical fruit to lavish florals over refined tannin. The palate is opulent with fruit, spice and vanilla in balance, and the finish is long and fresh. It is a superb sipping VSOP and makes a top-flight Sidecar or French Connection. This bottle is Camus's calling card and one of the most aromatic VSOPs in the category.
