The Kentucky Derby 151 Edition is Woodford Reserve's annual liter for the race it sponsors — the standard Kentucky straight bourbon at 90.4 proof in a collectible bottle with the 2025 Derby artwork. Woodford Reserve is Brown-Forman's showpiece distillery on Glenn's Creek in Versailles, Kentucky, distilling since 1812 on the site and running the only triple copper pot stills in bourbon, and it's been the official bourbon of the Kentucky Derby since 1999, releasing a commemorative bottle every spring with a commissioned painting on the label — the 151st running in May 2025 is this one. The bourbon inside is Woodford's 72% corn, 18% rye, 10% malted barley Distiller's Select — triple pot-distilled, aged in heat-cycled warehouses, batched and bottled at 90.4 proof — in a one-liter bottle. Expect the Woodford signature: a nose of dried fruit, vanilla, and toasted oak with a hint of spice, a balanced palate of caramel, cherry, toffee, and rye cinnamon with the pot-still fruitiness, and a smooth, warm finish. Honest note: the liquid is the Woodford you know and the label is the point — the Derby party bottle, the Mint Julep base, and the collector's annual; Derby editions sell out by race day and trade among the horse crowd afterward.
