Drinkhacker gave the Eagle Rare Expresión an A-minus and said it could pass for rum — seventeen months of highland tequila in barrels that held Eagle Rare 17, the Buffalo Trace Antique Collection bourbon collectors stand in line for. Expresiones del Corazón is the annual collaboration between Corazón and its owner Sazerac: Corazón's single-estate Los Altos tequila, slow-cooked in stone ovens and distilled at Casa San Matías, NOM 1103, under master distiller Rocío Rodríguez, filled into freshly emptied BTAC barrels and stored in the first row of the Acatic aging house for airflow, checked every two months, and bottled at 40% ABV in limited quantities. The 2024 Eagle Rare Añejo is seventeen months in Eagle Rare 17-year barrels. Drinkhacker, on the 2022 Eagle Rare release: pale gold, a lush nose of vanilla and butterscotch building to toffee, then toasted coconut, sweet vanilla, and caramel-toffee on the palate, mildly herbal, agave elusive, a citrus-peel finish that cleanses — so gentle but so rewarding. Bourbon & Banter notes the barrel influence has grown with each iteration, and welcomes it. Honest note: this is a tequila for the bourbon collector — the barrel leads and the agave follows — and it's the closest thing to drinking BTAC through an agave lens, at a price that's a fraction of the bourbon. Neat, in a Glencairn. The heart, in Eagle Rare 17 wood.Buy Expresiones del Corazon Eagle Rare Anejo Tequila 2024 online with fast shipping right to your door.
