Bulleit Bottled in Bond is the frontier bourbon held to the 1897 standard: one distillery, one season, four years minimum, 100 proof — and it's the first Bulleit made start to finish at the brand's own Shelbyville distillery. Tom Bulleit revived his great-great-grandfather Augustus Bulleit's 1830s recipe in 1987; Diageo has owned the brand since 2000 and opened the Shelbyville, Kentucky distillery in 2017, and the Bottled in Bond, launched in 2024, is the proof that the house can make its own whiskey after decades of sourcing from Four Roses. The mash bill is the Bulleit standard — 68% corn, 28% rye, and 4% malted barley, one of the highest rye contents in a mainstream bourbon — distilled in a single season at the single distillery, aged at least four years in a federally bonded warehouse, and bottled at exactly 100 proof, non-chill filtered. Ten extra proof points do a lot for a high-rye recipe: expect the flagship's honey, apple, anise, and cinnamon with more weight and heat, a nose of caramel, orange peel, and fresh rye bread, a fuller palate of brown sugar, black pepper, clove, and toasted oak, and a longer, drier, spicier finish than the 90-proof. Honest note: it's young by design and the Shelbyville distillate is a different animal from the old Four Roses stocks — tasted side by side with the flagship, you're tasting Bulleit's future against its past. For a Manhattan, a Boulevardier, or an Old Fashioned that stands up. The frontier, bonded.Buy Bulleit Bottled in Bond Frontier Whiskey online with fast shipping right to your door.
