Bushmills Private Reserve Burgundy Cask Finish Irish Whiskey is a limited single malt from the Old Bushmills Distillery's Private Reserve series, which explores unusual cask finishes. Triple distilled and first matured in bourbon barrels, this whiskey was finished in hand-selected Burgundy red wine casks and bottled at 47% ABV.The bourbon wood brings caramel, vanilla and Bushmills' signature orchard fruit; the Burgundy casks layer on ripe berries, dark chocolate and a gentle spice. The texture is creamy, and the finish is long and fruity with a light tannic grip from the wine oak. It is a whiskey to sip neat, and one that Pinot Noir drinkers will recognize immediately. This 750ml bottle is a small-run release and a good pick for anyone who likes wine-finished single malts.
