Fukano Single Cask Whisky｜ Other Products

Fukano Single Cask Whisky is a single-barrel bottling from Fukano Distillery in Hitoyoshi, Kumamoto Prefecture, founded in 1823 on the island of Kyushu. Fukano distills its whisky from koji-fermented rice and ages it in oak, and for this release one cask was selected and bottled on its own at 43% ABV, so each outturn is small and unrepeatable.Single casks show the distillery character without blending: expect sweet vanilla and oak with orchard fruit on the nose, a palate of ripe apple, pear and citrus wrapped in warm oak and gentle spice, a silky medium body and a long finish that stays sweet, fruity and lightly spiced. It is a whisky for neat sipping. This 750ml bottle is a collector's Fukano and a fascinating single-cask alternative to barley malt.
