Product description
MINDI'S SIGNATURE MOUTHPIECE
Introducing the Mindi Abair 2 Signature Alto Mouthpiece—an enhanced version of the ultimate powerhouse alto mouthpiece, now featuring groundbreaking technology and design improvements. Developed through a decade-long collaboration between Theo Wanne, the foremost expert in vintage mouthpiece design, and 2-time Grammy nominee Mindi Abair, this mouthpiece redefines alto saxophone performance.
The Mindi Abair 2 boasts cutting-edge technology, introducing a Swept-Step™ baffle, elliptical window, and a Small-Stadium-Chamber design. The duck-bill beak remains comfortably familiar, but the body has been subtly enlarged to produce a thicker sound while accommodating all Theo Wanne alto ligatures. The result is nothing short of the most powerful and dynamic alto mouthpiece ever crafted. The Mindi Abair 2 Signature Alto Mouthpiece delivers a variety of volume that ranges from the ultimate powerhouse capable of intense projection to a nuanced whisper when required.
Featuring a completely new design with a high-step roll-over baffle, the mouthpiece incorporates the Swept-Step™ baffle, elliptical window, and Small-Stadium-Chamber design. This combination not only projects with unparalleled intensity but also adds incredible body to the sound.
Features
• Material: Rhodium plated brass
• Made In: USA
• Chamber: Small-Stadium-Chamber™
• Baffle: Swept Step Baffle
• Ligature: 2-pin Gold Plated Liberty
• Recommended for: R&B, Smooth Jazz Pop, Rock n' Roll
Staff review:
"This mouthpiece really captures the shrill brightness of Mindi Abair's sound. It has a very steep baffle which makes it very free blowing and lets you play as loud as you need to cut through the rest of the band. This mouthpiece is also extremely responsive and works very efficiently to make playing as easy as possible. Compared to the other Theo Wanne pieces, this one is definitely one of the brightest in the lineup. This will work great for pop and funk playing as it really gives you the sound of some of the legends of these genres." - Jody
