New Riff Kentucky Wild Gin Bourbon Barreled is the older, wiser cousin of New Riff's house-distilled Kentucky Wild Gin: the same twelve botanicals, including wild-foraged Kentucky juniper, American spicebush and goldenrod, rested for around seven months in freshly dumped bourbon barrels from the Newport, Kentucky distillery. The wood lends a light golden hue and a subtle vanilla note, and it is bottled at 47% ABV (94 proof).Drinkhacker rated it an A- (9/10), finding a syrupy layer of vanilla and creamy toffee over the original dry spice on the nose, herbal-bitters and bourbon notes with lemon on the palate, and a botanical finish of licorice, pine resin and cinnamon. New Riff suggests using it in place of whiskey in an Old Fashioned, or in what they call its ultimate home, a Martinez. A bourbon distillery's take on aged gin, and a very good one.Buy New Riff Kentucky Wild Gin Bourbon Barreled online with fast shipping right to your door.
